About the Role

AXS is seeking a Database Engineer to provide high-quality, scalable data solutions powering our global ticketing and live entertainment platforms. You will partner with development, SRE, and DevOps teams to design, optimize, and maintain critical production database architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain relational and cloud databases, focusing on PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, and Oracle.
  • Manage high availability, replication architectures, backup routines, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans to maximize throughput and minimize latency.
  • Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated schema migrations and rollbacks.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation for automated database provisioning.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure optimal database health and security.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or DBA, with at least 3+ years in cloud/DevOps environments.
  • Deep hands-on proficiency with PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, and Oracle database platforms.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD tools (Liquibase, GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Strong performance tuning, indexing, and query execution plan analysis skills.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka clusters and real-time streaming architectures.
  • Experience across multi-cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
