About the Role
IPTA, located at Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, AL, is seeking a Database Engineer to solve real-world problems using technology for government and business organizations. The role emphasizes understanding needs and building practical, reliable solutions within a culture of fierce determination and supportive collaboration.
What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of all database systems.
- Proactive monitoring of database health and performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Implement and maintain a robust database security posture, including managing user access controls and data encryption.
- Design, implement, and regularly test a comprehensive database backup and recovery strategy meeting government RPO and RTO requirements.
- Manage and oversee all database schema changes using version-controlled migration scripts integrated into CI/CD.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Five (5) years of prior experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience with Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Remote Data Services (RDS), including PL-SQL.
- Great communication and organizational skills.
- DoD 8570 Level II/III certification and Active Security Clearance Required.
