What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

• Managing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring PostgreSQL databases to ensure high availability and performance.
• Oversee Backup and recovery management and perform Database installation, updates and configuration.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis, transformation, and reporting.
• Architect scalable, high-performance, and secure database solutions, integrating with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, Glue).
• Design backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and failover solutions (Multi-AZ, read replicas) ensuring SSA security compliance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 10+ years as a Database Admin/Architect with strong skills in PostgreSQL database management, data modeling, and normalization.
• Advanced skills in writing complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong experience with database architecture, configuration, installation, backup and recovery.
• Proven ability to architect scalable, high-performance, and secure database solutions using AWS tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
• Master’s and 5+ years of experience, Bachelor’s and 7+ years of experience or 13+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

• Experience identifying requirements, researching options, designing, and implementing solutions at a leadership level.
• Experience scripting in a Linux environment to automate ETL solutions and data migration jobs.
• Prior experience working in a federal agency or public sector environment.
