Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of a broad range of Technology and Business consulting services. We are in search of a highly motivated candidate to join our talented Team. Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL Server, along with exposure to Oracle and automation using Ansible. The role involves managing, optimizing, and automating database environments to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases across environments.
  • Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and query optimization.
  • Manage backup, recovery, replication, and high availability setups.
  • Automate database provisioning and configuration using Ansible.
  • Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance or availability issues.
  • Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
  • Work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and compliance standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Core Database Skills: Strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL (Primary skill) and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Automation & Tools: Experience with Ansible for database automation and configuration management.
  • Expected Skill Proficiency (Evaluation Benchmark): PostgreSQL: 8.5 / 10 (Expert level, must-have); SQL Server: 7 / 10 (Strong working knowledge); Ansible: 6 / 10 (Moderate automation capability).

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Working knowledge of Oracle (Good to have, expected proficiency: 5 / 10 – Basic to intermediate – optional).
  • Exposure to scripting (Shell/Python/PowerShell) is an added advantage.
