About the Role

The MySQL Database Administrator plays a key part in designing industry-leading solutions. In this role you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining the overall health of MySQL environments. This is a position in a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled professionals to continuously improve database architecture and execution.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, update, and maintain MySQL for multiple varying production applications
  • Plan and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Write ad-hoc queries daily to support business users
  • Work closely with application developers to improve performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve data collection, analyze database design and performance
  • Assume other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with MySQL providing administration, database design, development, and reporting for enterprise business applications
  • Solid work experience creating/updating schema, fine tuning indexes, writing complex queries to support cross-functional teams
  • Should have advanced data analysis, validation, and processing skills with a problem-solving attitude

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Experience with SQL Server a plus
  • Knowledge/experience with WordPress a plus
  • Experience cleaning, merging, and importing data from multiple sources (csv, xml, json) a plus
