About the Role

Provide technical expertise in database design, development, implementation, data storage and retrieval, and data flow analysis. Develop and maintain database structures that align with the overall system architecture. Design new workflows as needed and respond to break/fix requests and system updates. Lead development of database structures, database parsing software, and database loading software, alongside developing Python-based RESTful APIs, microservices, and data model management capabilities to interact with data models (MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Database Architecture & Management: Provide technical expertise in database design, development, implementation, data storage and retrieval, and data flow analysis.
  • Structural Maintenance: Develop and maintain database structures that align with overall system architecture and lead the development of database parsing and loading software.
  • Workflow & Support: Design new workflows as needed and respond directly to break/fix requests and system updates.
  • API & Microservices Development: Develop and test Python-based RESTful APIs, microservices, and data model management capabilities using Django and Flask to interact with data models and deliver data to the UI front end in JSON format.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Database Experience: Hands-on experience using MongoDB, including deployment, management, debugging of optimization issues, and scaling.
  • Python & Frameworks: Desired experience with Python, Django, or Flask.
  • API & Cloud Technologies: ReST endpoint development, micro-service models, Swagger, and cloud experience such as AWS or C2S.
  • Development Tools & Version Control: Experience with Docker, Visual Studio Code, JSON/XML serialization, Jira, Confluence, and Git version control in an Agile environment.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Cloud environments such as AWS or C2S.
  • Experience working in fast-paced Agile engineering teams.
