About the Role

Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain the organization’s database systems. In this role, you will ensure database environments are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance. Key responsibilities include handling system installations, continuous performance tuning, managing security permissions, and maintaining robust backup and disaster recovery plans.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain database software and underlying server environments.
  • Performance Tuning & Monitoring: Continuously monitor database instances for performance bottlenecks and optimize systems for maximum speed and efficiency.
  • Security & Access Control: Implement security policies, manage user permissions, and protect data against unauthorized access.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop, test, and implement regular backup and recovery strategies to prevent data loss in the event of system failures.
  • Data Integrity & Storage: Maintain database accuracy, consistency, and manage storage allocation for database archives.
  • Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve complex database issues and provide technical support and documentation to cross-functional teams.
  • Schema & System Planning: Collaborate with software developers and IT personnel on database structure design, schema updates, and data-related initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of hands-on Database Administration operational experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience administering Oracle database systems.
  • 2+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Strong practical skills in backup and recovery, performance tuning, security management, and troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Preferred).

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • Proven ability to author and maintain technical operational documentation and standard procedures.
  • Experience collaborating directly with application developers on database schema design and project implementation.
