About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer (Mid) to support advanced intelligence and analytics initiatives in Huntsville, AL. The selected engineer will work with a combination of open-source technologies, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) tools to develop and deliver an advanced visual analytic application. This application will transform streams of structured and semi-structured data into manageable, actionable intelligence for mission-critical operations.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver advanced visual analytic applications for desktop and web-based platforms
  • Develop and implement data analytics solutions that enable bulk analysis of relational and semi-structured data
  • Design strategies for enterprise database systems, including standards for operations, programming, and security
  • Design, construct, and maintain large-scale relational databases
  • Integrate new systems with existing data warehouse architectures
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and functionality

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of related experience in data engineering, database design, and analytics development
  • Experience with: Java, AWS, ETL experience, Spark / Scala, SQL / PLSQL, Postgres, NiFi, Informatica, Linux
  • Strong experience working with structured and semi-structured data sources
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools and analytic software for desktop and web environments

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments
  • Experience integrating data analytics solutions into existing enterprise architectures
