About the Role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support a large-scale MySQL database platform in the cloud. You will work within a large application domain, providing operational support, maintaining system health, and collaborating with global development and architecture teams. Working hours start at 8:00 AM CT.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Database Support: Maintain and support MySQL databases in the cloud, preferably utilizing Google GCP Cloud SQL.
  • Platform Operations: Manage a multi-region database platform consisting of 150 instances and 200 databases across 12 environments.
  • System Health & Security: Maintain continuous system health, availability, and administrative support including ID provisioning and security.
  • Incident & On-Call Management: Participate in war room/incident support with required on-call responsibilities.
  • Performance & Development Support: Assist application development and architecture teams with performance tuning and SQL development.
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Build and maintain Terraform development for database instance creation and configuration.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • DBA Experience: 4-6 years of hands-on Database Administrator experience supporting MySQL.
  • Education: Bachelor of Computer Science degree.
  • Communication Skills: Great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships across global teams.
  • Soft Skills: Self-motivated, proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented to manage a large-scale platform effectively.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Experience with MongoDB.
  • Operational integration of AI.
  • Jenkins pipeline development experience.
