About the Role

Integral Federal is seeking a Data Engineer / PostgreSQL DBA to administer, sustain, optimize, and protect JPES/JCRM data environments. In this role, you will help federal defense leaders leverage emerging technologies to transform their enterprises, empower growth, and keep our nation safe and secure.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Database Administration: Administer, sustain, optimize, and protect PostgreSQL/EDB databases across the environment.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform database tuning and performance analysis to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Schema & Configuration Management: Manage schemas, indexes, queries, and database configurations.
  • Backup & Recovery: Support comprehensive backup, restore, and recovery operations to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Security & Compliance: Support database security and STIG remediation to meet federal standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Integration: Troubleshoot database and data-exchange issues while supporting data mapping, migration, and integration activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: BA/BS in an engineering discipline (an additional four years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable).
  • Experience: 6+ years of database engineering/administration experience.
  • Core Skills: Strong PostgreSQL experience, advanced SQL, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Operational Knowledge: Proven background in database troubleshooting and security.
  • Clearance: U.S. citizenship and required Secret eligibility.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Experience with EDB PostgreSQL
  • Oracle familiarity
  • Cloud-hosted databases
  • Background working in DoD/classified environments
