About the Role

North South Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Analyst to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based database solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) supporting the Army’s Human Resources Command (HRC). This 100% remote position leads application database development, optimization, and security across scalable PostgreSQL and Aurora database environments.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of application databases within AWS cloud environments.
  • Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora databases using AWS RDS.
  • Provide database security management, IAM policies, security groups, encryption, and Cyber/IA compliance in AWS.
  • Deliver technical database architecture solutions from initial design through deployment and operational support.
  • Oversee job scheduling, database monitoring, index management, and performance tuning for optimal reliability.
  • Support data warehousing solutions, ETL processes (such as AWS Glue), and report generation across data sources.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture blueprints, and operational procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience as a Database Administrator or Analyst in an AWS environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora on AWS RDS.
  • Familiarity with database migration tools and strategies, including AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
  • Solid understanding of ETL workflows; familiarity with tools like AWS Glue or IBM DataStage is beneficial.
  • Certified as Technical Level III as defined by DoD Directive 8570.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Active Secret clearance required (or ability to obtain one); US Citizenship required.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Data Science with 10+ years of experience, or BA/BS with 15+ years of experience.
  • AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification highly desirable.
