About the Role

Title: Database Migration Consultant Employment Type: Full-Time Only Location: 100% Remote Priority: Preference will be given to former Amazon/AWS employees (FTE or Contractors). There is no cooling-off period required; however, candidates should be able to explain the reason for leaving Amazon/AWS.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Strong MySQL Administration experience with large databases (10-50+ TB)
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL Shell utilities (dumpSchemas, loadDump, parallel dump/restore)
  • Aurora MySQL provisioning, external replication setup, and performance tuning
  • Binlog Replication / CDC setup, monitoring, and failover recovery
  • Strong Python scripting and automation experience (AWS SDKs/boto3 preferred)
  • Ansible playbook development and orchestration
  • Bash/Shell scripting
  • AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and networking fundamentals
