About the Role

Senior PostgreSQL DBA / Database Performance Engineer needed for a remote role. This position requires a hands-on Database / Performance Engineer to administer, configure, upgrade, and monitor PostgreSQL (v11–16), as well as support the build, deployment, monitoring, synthetic data generation, and validation of database performance-testing environments. Only USC.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, upgrade, and monitor PostgreSQL (v11–16).
  • Execute on‑prem to Azure PostgreSQL migrations (Flexible Server, Azure VMs).
  • Work hands‑on with Azure DMS, pg_dump/pg_restore, and replication methods.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans for performance.
  • Support build, deployment, monitoring, and validation of performance‑testing environments.
  • Implement synthetic data generation for benchmarking and validation.
  • Configure HA/DR solutions (streaming replication, failover, backups).
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and access control.
  • Perform strong Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Handle scripting/automation with Shell, Python, or PowerShell for database operations.
  • Support the build, deployment, monitoring, synthetic data generation, and validation of database performance-testing environments.
