About the Role

Clicklease is an equipment financing company dedicated to empowering small business owners. As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will be a technical owner of the databases powering our lending platform, risk systems, and customer services, working closely with DBA and DevOps teams.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Keep production databases available & recoverable through reliable failover, replication, and disaster-recovery plans.
  • Drive performance & scalability by monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning database performance, including queries and indexes.
  • Operate & Monitor Production by building monitoring, dashboards, and participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Protect Sensitive Financial Data by managing access using least-privilege principles and implementing encryption.
  • Improve How We Ship Database Changes by improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines and bringing resources under Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of administering SQL Server or PostgreSQL in production, with strong hands-on skills in the other.
  • Expertise in High availability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore (failover replicas, streaming replication).
  • Experience running self-hosted databases on AWS EC2 and Linux.
  • Strong Performance tuning and query optimization, including T-SQL and SQL (stored procedures/functions).
  • Automation with Python and working knowledge of PowerShell and Bash, using Git-based workflows.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Designing database architecture that scales (partitioning, read scaling).
  • Windows Server administration in support of SQL Server.
  • Monitoring and observability with Zabbix and Grafana.
  • Experience with AWS DMS or other change-data-capture tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehouses like Snowflake and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance audits.
