About the Role

Itransition is looking for an experienced DataBase Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will work on projects for high-profile global clients such as PayPal, Wargaming, Xerox, Philips, adidas, and Toyota within a highly collaborative, fast-paced organization featuring office-based and distributed teams.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain mission-critical database systems.
  • Manage MySQL backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and prevent performance bottlenecks using SQL and query optimization techniques.
  • Assist development teams with database design and schema modifications.
  • Ensure optimal operation and high throughput for high-performance MySQL environments (>50k QPS).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working experience as a DataBase Administrator.
  • Significant experience in using MySQL for mission-critical applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of MySQL backup/recovery and replication.
  • Strong SQL and query optimizing techniques with a demonstrable ability to both diagnose and prevent performance problems.
  • Expert understanding of high-performance MySQL (>50k QPS).
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Snowflake, and ClickHouse.
  • Strong Linux administration skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and fast-paced organization with office-based, distributed teams and individuals.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote workplace.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Desirable to have knowledge of MySQL clustering technologies like Galera Cluster.
  • Experience with GCP (the primary cloud platform) or AWS data products and services.
  • Knowledge of Ansible.
  • Experience with Helm.
